Hello

Welcome! My name is Edmund Szutu (pronounced zoo-too). Clients often describe me as compassionate, insightful, and easy to talk to. We all have strengths and know how to survive. But sometimes we want more than just going through the motions and keeping our head above the water. I understand how culture, community, family, and relationships can shape us in subtle but important ways. I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and comfortable being themselves as we work together toward a more fulfilling future. I'd be honoured if you invite me alongside you!

For over 15 years, I have been a school counsellor, victim services worker, counselling intern at a free non-profit, classroom teacher, and crisis suicide line volunteer.

My Approach

I believe in building an honest and comfortable relationship first. Once I better understand you and your goals, we can move into helping you find meaning or direction.

There is no one-size-fits-all path in life, so will take a little bit of exploration to find satisfaction and purpose. You’ll be surprised by the unique wisdom you already have; we can build on it so you can re-discover your strengths and grow them into the life you want to live

My key areas of focus are:

  • Anxiety and Depression

  • Identity & Culture

  • Unresolved family relationships

  • Self-Acceptance

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Career Counselling

  • ADHD (diagnosed and undiagnosed)

I work with many Asian and second-generation immigrant clients who want support from someone who understands the challenges of balancing different cultures, family expectations, and identity. I also have experience working with clients that have ADHD. Together, we can build confidence, strengthen relationships, and find ways to form your personal identity while still honouring where you come from.

I understand going to counselling/therapy might already feel like a big step, so thank you for considering me in this journey.
